HeyGen

HeyGen Technology, Inc. is an American generative-AI company headquartered in Los Angeles. It was founded in 2020 by Joshua Xu and Wayne Liang, trading first as Surreal and then as Movio before taking the HeyGen name, and moved its headquarters to Los Angeles in 2022.

Early capital came from Sequoia China (now HongShan) and ZhenFund. A June 2024 round of USD 60 million led by Benchmark, with Conviction, Bond Capital and Thrive Capital, valued the company at USD 500 million against more than 40,000 customers and USD 35 million of annualised recurring revenue.
