Mondly

Mondly is made by ATI Studios A.P.P.S. S.R.L., a Romanian company based in Brașov (trade register J8/1440/2013). It launched the Mondly app in 2014, and its terms of use name the Brașov company as the contracting party, with the laws of England and Wales applying to disputes.

Pearson plc, the London-listed education group, announced on 29 April 2022 that it had acquired Mondly, and the app now trades as Mondly by Pearson inside Pearson’s English Language Learning division. Pearson files with the US SEC as a foreign issuer rather than a domestic one, so the chain ends at a UK company. Co-founder Alex Iliescu was CEO at the time of the sale.
