Hostinger Web Hosting
Web Hosting Lithuania
Shared hosting on European servers with free zero-downtime migration. Alternative to GoDaddy Web Hosting.
Details
Hostinger Web Hosting is shared hosting from the Lithuanian group of the same name, contracted through Hostinger International Limited in Larnaca under Luxembourg law. Plans run Premium, Business and Cloud Startup, with 20, 50 and 100 GB of storage, unlimited websites from the Business tier up, unlimited SSL certificates, MySQL databases, one-click installers and the hPanel control panel in place of cPanel. Backups are weekly on the entry plan and daily above it, and a free domain and mailboxes are included for the first year.
The distinguishing feature is where the server sits. Hostinger lets you choose the data centre at setup and move it later, and five of the locations are in Europe: France, Germany, Lithuania, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. It also migrates an existing site for free with no downtime and no cap on the number of sites, which is the step that usually stops people leaving a host.
Treat the headline prices as first-term rates. Premium advertises USD 2.99 a month on a four-year term and renews at 10.99; Business advertises 3.99 and renews at 16.99. GoDaddy’s Deluxe plan also renews at 16.99 and its Economy plan at 11.99, so renewal to renewal the two are level and the saving is confined to the first term. Storage is the one axis where IONOS, already in this category, is ahead.
About Hostinger
Hostinger is a web-hosting group founded in Kaunas in 2004 and headquartered in Vilnius as Hostinger UAB (registration 302710386). It sells shared, cloud and VPS hosting, domains, email and website-building tools to customers in around 150 countries.
Its universal terms of service make Hostinger International Limited, a Cyprus company in Larnaca, the contracting entity for customers in EU countries and everywhere not separately listed, under the law of Luxembourg. The group’s Singapore, Indonesian, Brazilian, UK and US companies are subsidiaries beneath the Lithuanian parent, not holding companies above it.
Hostinger has never been publicly listed. A minority stake of roughly a third is held by ConHostinger, an investment vehicle backed by the German firm Equivia Partners; founders and employees hold the rest.
