KeyCDN

CDN & Edge Switzerland

Swiss pay-as-you-go CDN with image processing and secure tokens. Alternative to Cloudflare.

Details

KeyCDN is a Swiss content delivery network, run since 2012 by proinity LLC in Ermatingen. It does caching and nothing else, from 60-plus data centres in over 40 countries on six continents, each edge server on at least a 40 Gbps uplink. Traffic is tiered per gigabyte: North America and Europe cost USD 0.04 for the first 10 TB, then 0.03, 0.02, and 0.01 above 100 TB; Asia and Oceania start at 0.08; Africa and Latin America at 0.10. The floor is USD 4 a month, the minimum payment USD 49, and the trial runs 14 days without a card.

Every account gets every feature. Pull and push zones, instant purge, origin shield, byte-range requests, HTTP Live Streaming, Brotli and gzip, IPv6, secure-token authentication, access rules, bot blocking, DDoS protection, free Let’s Encrypt or custom TLS, and a REST API. The first three zones are free and each one after costs USD 1 a month. Push-zone storage runs 0.12 per GB to 500 GB, then 0.08 and 0.04. Image processing is 0.40 per thousand operations and log forwarding USD 1 a day.

Cloudflare’s free plan carries unmetered traffic, so KeyCDN starts at USD 4 a month against nothing. The deeper gap is scope: no authoritative DNS, no WAF rule engine, no edge compute, no zero-trust access, and a published protocol list that stops at HTTP/2. What is left is Swiss jurisdiction under the FADP, a price grid you can read without a sales call, and no upsell path.

About KeyCDN

KeyCDN is a Swiss content delivery network operated by proinity LLC, headquartered in Ermatingen since 2012. The service is independent and privately funded, caching from more than 60 data centres in over 40 countries on six continents, each edge server on at least a 40 Gbps uplink. It sells HTTP/2 delivery, real-time image processing, secure-token authentication and DDoS protection at a usage-based per-GB price, with every feature available on every account. Swiss data-protection jurisdiction under the FADP is the positioning beyond GDPR.
