OVHcloud Public Cloud Instances
Cloud Computing France
European cloud instances for scalable compute and production apps. Alternative to Amazon EC2, Azure Virtual Machines, and DigitalOcean Droplets.
Details
OVHcloud Public Cloud Instances are hourly virtual machines run by OVHcloud, the French hosting group, on its own datacentres across Europe and beyond. Instances come in general-purpose, CPU-optimised, memory-optimised and GPU flavours, with block storage, private networks, security groups and load balancers alongside.
It is the broadest European IaaS catalogue: Windows Server can be licensed by the hour, there are managed Kubernetes and managed database services, an IAM layer, and a 3-availability-zone region in Paris. Terraform and an OpenStack-compatible API drive it from code.
The gaps against the US hyperscalers are the surrounding platform rather than the compute: no directory service with the reach of Entra ID, no hybrid-estate management layer, and no enterprise agreement that discounts an existing software stack.
