Webnode

Webnode starts a site from a template or from an AI-generated draft and edits it on a drag-and-drop canvas. The same editor handles a blog, language versions of each page, contact and reservation forms, an online booking system that takes payment for appointments, and an online store. Hosting, mobile layouts and SEO settings are included, and annual plans add a free domain for the first year.

The core builder is free, with capped storage and bandwidth and Webnode branding on the site. Paid plans are priced in US dollars on annual billing: Limited at USD 4.50 a month attaches your own domain, Mini is USD 8.50, Standard at USD 12.90 is the first tier with the online store and without Webnode branding, and Profi is USD 22.90.

The gap against Wix is the extension layer. Webnode’s features page lists no app marketplace; extras are added through custom HTML in the page head or footer.

Webnode AG has its registered office at Badenerstrasse 47 in Zürich and is the party users contract with; its terms are governed by Swiss law, with consumers keeping the courts of their own country. Day-to-day operations run from Webnode s.r.o. in Brno, Czech Republic, where the company started in 2008.

Its shareholders sold Webnode AG to team.blue, the hosting and online-services group based in Ghent, Belgium, in December 2020; the buyer’s and sellers’ law firms both announced the deal, and Webnode’s own site names team.blue as its parent organisation. team.blue’s largest investor is the London private-equity firm Hg. CPP Investments, the Canadian pension fund, bought about 20% in July 2024, and founders Jonas Dhaenens and Ali Niknam remain cornerstone shareholders.
