European alternatives to Logic Pro

Logic Pro is Apple’s digital audio workstation for macOS: multitrack audio and MIDI recording, a large bundled instrument and effect library, take-lane comping, a score editor, scoring to picture, and mixing and mastering tools. It is the standard professional DAW on the Mac and the step up from the free GarageBand, which it can open projects from.

It is sold two ways. A standalone Mac App Store purchase costs USD 199.99 or EUR 229.99, or it comes as part of the Apple Creator Studio subscription at USD 12.99 a month or USD 129 a year. There is a 30-day free trial of the subscription bundle; there is no free or feature-limited edition of Logic Pro itself, and GarageBand is a separate application rather than a Logic tier.

What makes it hard to leave is the platform rather than the software. Logic runs only on macOS, there is no project format any other DAW can import, and Apple documents AAF as the only interchange route to Pro Tools. Moving to another workstation means rebuilding arrangements by hand, not exporting them.
