Scalingo

Scalingo is a French Platform-as-a-Service. Applications deploy by pushing to a Git remote, are built with buildpacks covering Ruby and Rails, Node.js, PHP, Python, Go, Java, Elixir and Scala, and run in containers that scale horizontally or automatically. Review apps spin up a disposable environment per pull request, and a CLI and API cover day-to-day operations.

Managed databases include PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis and Elasticsearch, with daily backups and point-in-time recovery on PostgreSQL. Containers run from EUR 7.20 a month for 256 MB to EUR 230.40 for 8 GB. A separate SecNumCloud region, built on Outscale’s qualified infrastructure, is available at a premium for workloads with French state security requirements.

Scalingo SAS is a société par actions simplifiée with EUR 35,291.90 of capital, SIREN 808665483, registered at 13 rue Jacques Peirotes in Strasbourg and created on 30 December 2014, VAT FR77808665483, under NAF code 6311Z for data processing and hosting. The French register shows two natural persons and no legal person above them: Yann Klis is président and Léo Unbekandt directeur général. The company sits in the 20-to-49 employee band and its accounts are not public.

Scalingo owns no data centres. Its sole IaaS provider is 3DS Outscale, and the only two regions it offers — osc-fr1 and osc-secnum-fr1 — are both in Paris, each built from two availability zones that are separate Outscale data centres. Scalingo itself is certified to ISO 27001 and to HDS, the French health-data hosting standard, so patient data can legally be hosted on the platform. It is not SecNumCloud-qualified; that work is in progress, and osc-secnum-fr1 is SecNumCloud only in the sense that Outscale’s underlying infrastructure carries the ANSSI qualification. US regions exist at Outscale but are offered only on request.

The platform is Heroku-shaped: git or Docker deploys, buildpacks for Ruby on Rails, PHP, Node.js, Python, Java and Go, review apps, autoscaling, automatic Let’s Encrypt certificates, unlimited collaborators and containers that never sleep. Managed databases cover PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, InfluxDB and a Redis-compatible cache, with daily backups and point-in-time recovery on PostgreSQL. Containers start at EUR 7.20 a month for 256 MB in the standard region and cost exactly 20% more in the SecNumCloud one. Support is staffed French office hours, Monday to Friday.
