YouTrack
Project Management Czechia
Issue tracker with agile boards, reports, and a knowledge base. Alternative to Jira.
Details
YouTrack is JetBrains’ issue tracker, sold separately from the IDE bundle. It ships scrum and kanban boards, sprints, backlogs, burndown and cumulative-flow reports, Gantt charts, time tracking and timesheets, a JavaScript workflow engine, a REST API and its own search query language.
Two things set it apart from Jira rather than merely matching it. Repository integration is broader: GitHub, GitLab and Bitbucket are all first-class, plus Gitea and Azure Repos, with commit linking, branch-name linking, pull-request status in the activity stream and commands applied from commit messages. And it bundles what Atlassian sells as separate products — a knowledge base in place of Confluence, and a helpdesk in place of Jira Service Management.
The cloud tier is free for up to 10 users, and JetBrains states the only thing paid plans add at that size is a custom logo. Storage is 30 GB against Jira Free’s 2 GB. Paid plans start at EUR 4.50 per user per month and fall to EUR 1.53 at the largest volumes.
The contracting entity is JetBrains s.r.o., registered in the Prague Municipal Court commercial register, File 86211, ID 265 02 275, with the terms governed by Czech law. Cloud instances run in a region chosen at creation; the European options are Frankfurt and Ireland, hosted on AWS rather than on JetBrains-owned infrastructure.
About JetBrains
JetBrains is a Czech developer-tools company — JetBrains s.r.o., headquartered in Prague and founded in 2000. It is privately held by its founders and best known for IDEs such as IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm, and WebStorm. JetBrains AI Assistant and the Junie coding agent bring AI completion, chat, and autonomous edits into those IDEs, built partly on its own Mellum models with European data handling.
